State Electrician Exam Preparation

To become a certified electrician, you must pass the California Electrician Certification Exam. To take the exam and become certified, you need to have a minimum of on-the-job training hours. The required hours are different depending on the type of certification. The General Electrician certification requires you to have at least 8,000 hours (about 4 years) of on-the-job training.
