Pipe Bending Classes

90 Degree bend with three point saddle

Each student must match existing bend in order to pass this class. Most pipe bending classes just perform the bend in ours you must match the previous students bend. We expect our student to understand how to measure for the particular bend transpose it to the conduit and perform the bend. We review article 358 National Electrical Code to understand code requirements for installing electrical metallic conduit. The emphasis is the best bend are NO BENDS.

Residential Wiring

Every electrician must understand the basic electrical wiring for residential. More than likely they will be confronted with either their own home modification or helping relatives or neighbors. They must understand the particulars on small appliance branch circuits, and now the mandatory Title 24 California Code and Regulations.

There are more residential structures then there are the combinations of commercial and industrial structures. You must understand residential electrical wiring.

Commercial Wiring

Learn the variety of wiring methods and lighting installation for commercial buildings.

Control Wiring

Learn the basic motor control wiring by understanding a ladder diagram. You will generate a drawing for both a standard hand-off-automatic and a start/stop station. Afterwards you will wire up the respective devices by the drawings. Once the devices work you will be given time-delay relays both on-delay and off-delay to incorporate in you ladder diagram. This course is a pre-requisite for our programmable logic controls. The advance students will be required to design and build a control panel.

3 Phase Transformer

Transformers

Learn the differences of buck-boast, auto-transformers, step-up, and step-down transformer. How to determine the amount of amps based on the kVA. What is the difference in Delta and Wye connections? How to determine the fault current of the transformer? Wiring of three-phase transformer and system grounding? This along with Article 240, 250.66, 310-16, 450, and Annex ?C? of the National Electrical Code transformers will be presented. You are required to wire up a 3-phase transformer, determine the available amps, what size grounding electrode conductor, what size primary protection, if required what size of secondary protection, what size conductors, what size conduit for both primary and secondary conductors.

California Electrical Training school
has spacious class rooms that could accommodate 30 students in each, while the 5 labs can accommodate 15 in each to provide the most excellent training. Other areas of the labs provide training for fire alarm systems, voice and data, photo-voltaic systems, lighting technology, and latest lighting controls (DALI) protocol.

Lighting Technology Program

This course covers basic lighting technology to advance lighting controls. You will learn terminologies used in the lighting industry to help better understand the industry. We will cover variety of lamps that are now required by California Title 24. Lighting controls from the basic A B switching to DALI protocol. Building Automation System (BAS) for lighting controls.

Voice and Data basic application

Learn how to install voice and data drops. You will terminate and certify both cat 3 and cat 5 cables. Terminate on 110 and 66 blocks as well as patch panels you will incorporate wire management. This knowledge not only covers voice and data, but automations systems such as lighting controls protocol. This is a must for the highly skilled electrician. Building Automation Systems now require cat 5 & cat 6 cabling. You will develop confidence in your installation as well as understand Article 800 of the National Electrical Code.
